SPT2 Wire

Spt2 wire is also known as zip wire. When I first heard about it I did not think much about it. Later I did some research and I found out it that spt wire had a ton of benefits. It is not as heavy and bulky as regular extension cords and not orange. Extension cords should be used for light controllers or other big items that need to carry a heavier load. Spt2 wire can be used to connect lower amps 10 amps) items, such as mini trees, yard wire frames, etc. Spt wire and spt plugs make it easy to custom make cords for all areas of your display.

A cool example is that you can make a wiring harness. What is a wiring harness? It is a layout of cords that are all held together with zip ties. Once it is made you can used it every year for fast super fast setup. I have made 16 channel wiring harnesses for my mini trees. What I did was space out my mini trees the way I like them (2' in between each), then laid the first cord out going to the first mini tree. I made the lead cord that will go to the light controller 8' long. You can make your lead cord longer or shorter. Next lay out your next cord going to the second mini tree. This should be zip tied 2 feet from the first mini tree. Make sure when you zip tied it you leave a 3 foot lead ging to each mini tree. Keep adding until you get the desired amount of cords. Also make sure you label them with numbers.

I recently took one that I made for a set of 16 mini trees and used it on a 16 channel roof. I was able to get the roof connected to the controller in minutes. We are planning on including a DVD showing you how to make this wiring harness and other ways to use zip wire.
